A part of me has always wanted to be a high school or university English teacher. So it has been a thrill to speak to students ranging from grade five to university, and hear their reactions to my books.
If you are in the Toronto region (and for this I’ll drive far) don’t hesitate to ask. Just send me an email through my website. (If you are further away, I’d be happy to do a conference call).
Here are some sample questions some teachers have used over the years.
Since the release of Old City Hall I’ve discovered the world of book clubs, writer’s groups, guest speakers, library talks, etc. Probably been to at least forty of them so far. If you’d like to have me come and speak just send me a request through the website.
If you are not in the Toronto region, then I can often do a virtual club. All you need is a hands-free phone and I can try to call in for a few minutes at least.
I’ve also participated in a number of website chat forums, and am happy to do that if I get enough notice.
As we move along I’ll be posting suggestions for book clubs and discussion groups. (And you might want to take a peak at the TEACHING tab – see some of the essay questions teachers ask their students about my books. Very cool.)
And, don’t hesitate to email me if you have any more specific questions.
