For High School Teachers

A part of me has always wanted to be a high school or university English teacher.

So it has been a thrill to speak to students ranging from grade five to university, and hear their reactions to my books.

If you are in the Toronto region (and for this I’ll drive far) don’t hesitate to ask. Just send me an email through my website. And now, thanks to Zoom, I can come to classes anywhere.

Here are some sample questions some teachers have used over the years.

I regularly visit a downtown Toronto high school, Central Tech, where the students study my novels and often do their own covers and book reports. Stan Klich is their excellent and inspiring teacher. Photos below are from a recent visit and some of the Old City Hall covers that the students created.

Some students have created promotional videos of Old City Hall as part of their student projects. The first video is "Old City Hall Independent Novel Study Trailer" by Japheth Cueto, done for a Grade 11 English assignment at Martingrove Collegiate Institute. The second video is "Old City Hall Book Trailer" by Julian Calderon, done for his Grade 12 class at Northview Heights Secondary School.
